Best. Weekend. Evar.
We had time to kill since we got to the hotel at 4:30 pm and dinner reservations weren't until 7:30 pm. We were friggin' starving and we didn't want to have a meal because that would spoil our appetites. We walked around Robson to kill some time and stopped by IGA to pick up some drinks and chips.
After watching some TV while eating some snacks, we eventually got ready. Comparing last years picture of us compared to us this year; I look uglier. I don't know if it's because I did my make up different that made me look that way or the fact that I didn't really dress up this year that made an effect on the photo. Paolo looked amazing of course so I'm just the ugly girl that he's dating. I had to re-do my make up because I just felt weird ... making us late for our dinner reservations at Gotham. We thought we could grab a taxi over there since we saw taxis lined outside the hotel earlier when we went to grab snacks. There were no taxis outside so we had to walk there.
We got to Gotham, ordered fresh oysters as always and ordered our entrees. I think Paolo got the bone in NY strip and I ordered filet mignon and lobster. Paolo's steak was a lot bigger than last year and I was really surprised that he finished and he even beat me!!! Paolo's steak was more rare than medium rare and mine didn't seem to be medium rare at all, but I didn't want to make a fuss about it. The lobster was delish and I was happy. Our waiter William was great, but not as great as Bob from last year. I think because we knew what we wanted we got less attention from him because he didn't have to explain a whole lot to us.
We decided to not get dessert because we were going to get Beard Papa later on and because we were so full. We were planning on seeing 'I love you man' afterwards, but when we got to Scotia Bank, it was sold out. Paolo originally wanted to watch 'Knowing' with Nicholas Cage so we watched that instead. The movie seemed to drag on for a long time ... and I was really happy when the movie was over. We watched more TV when we got back to the room and caugh an episode of Ace of Cakes!!!!
I was woken up early by Paolo's alarm and I HATE waking up early on a Sunday ... it didn't help that the blinds were opened either. We looked at the breakfast menu because Paolo got the bed and breakfast deal from the hotel. I eventually fell back asleep and woke up when breakfast was over. Instead we went to PC to grab some lunch and exchange my iPhone case.
We walked down to Beard Papa on the West End. I didn't know it'd take that long to walk there because I thought it was near Kintaro. We had an hour left before check out when we got back to the room to eat our cream puffs/eclairs. I only ate 2 of the 3 eclairs I got and Paolo ate all 3 of his cream puffs.
I went back home to drop off the roses that Paolo bought for me. When I walked into the room, I was more excited to see the room, so I took a quick look at the flowers and then looked at the room. It wasn't until Paolo told me that there were two dozen roses that I went back to really look at the roses. I think the reason why I passed by the roses on the way into the room was because the roses had a card attached to them with Paolo's name on them so yeah. There wasn't a card addressed to me or anything like that. That would've been nice if there was a card. I bought us a trophy that has the words "I'm right" engraved on them. I think it was a pretty kick ass idea and it was something to symbolize OUR relationship.
After that we went to QB to look at Petcetra because of the sale that they have going on to stay out of bankruptcy. Then we headed off to Paolo's house because we were killing time before watching 'I love you man'. Needless to say we took a nap and missed the movie. It was such a goooooooooooood nap too because I was really tired after that long walk at Central Park.
This was an amazing weekend ... it sucks that I have to go to school tomorrow.
